3 Senators Fell For Fake Bin Laden Photo ... "The Photo that I Saw and that a Lot of Other People Saw is Not Authentic"
Preface: This post does not speculate on whether or not Bin Laden was actually killed last week or died previously, or on what images the government may possess, but only on what actually happened and what photographs have been released to date.
The government now claims that it has a photo showing a dead Bin Laden ... but won't release it.
The photo was supposedly taken in a hangar in Afghanistan. As CNN notes:
Photos of OBLs body at a hangar after he was brought back to Afghanistan. This is the most recognizable with a clear picture of his face. The picture is gruesome because he has a massive open head wound across both eyes. It’s very bloody and gory.
The fact that the photo wasn't taken right after the raid in Pakistan - but in a different country - makes it harder to confirm when the photo was taken.
Moreover, Senator Scott Brown first told Fox News that he had personally seen the gruesome death photo: http://www.myfoxboston.com/dpp/morning/sen-scott-brown-on-attack-ad-bin-...
But he later told Fox that he - and a lot of other people - had been shown a fake:
Scott Brown tells FOX25 - "The photo that I saw and that a lot of other people saw is not authentic."
President Obama announced tonight that U.S. special forces killed Osama Bin Laden.
That's great ... but we could have killed him years ago.
As I noted in 2009:
According to the U.S. Senate - Bin Laden was "within the grasp" of the U.S. military in Afghanistan in December 2001, but that then-secretary of defense Rumsfeld refused to provide the soldiers necessary to capture him.
This is not news: it was disclosed in 2005 by the CIA field commander for the area in Afghanistan where Bin Laden was holed up.
I've previously written that real men stand up to fascists:
On September 19, 2001, CBS reported:
Sources tell CBS News that the afternoon before the attack, alarm bells were sounding over unusual trading in the U.S. stock options market.
An extraordinary number of trades were betting that American Airlines stock price would fall.
The trades are called "puts" and they involved at least 450,000 shares of American. But what raised the red flag is more than 80 percent of the orders were "puts", far outnumbering "call" options, those betting the stock would rise.
Sources say they have never seen that kind of imbalance before, reports CBS News Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson. Normally the numbers are fairly even.
After the terrorist attacks, American Airline stock price did fall obviously by 39 percent, and according to sources, that translated into well over $5 million total profit for the person or persons who bet the stock would fall.
Colleen Rowley: Minders Ensured She Didn't Say Anything About 9/11 the FBI Didn't WANT Told, Even to Government Officials...
Tuesday, March 16, 2010
FBI whistleblower Colleen Rowley says in a new interview that she was "minded" during her testimony to the Joint Intelligence Committee investigation of 9/11. Specifically, she said that "FBI minders" listened to her every word, to trail her and make sure that she didn't tell government personnel with top secret clearance even higher than her own anything which the FBI did not want to be told.
While this might sound fantastic, it is nothing new.
Rowley said the same had happened to Daniel Ellsberg went to members of Congress with the Pentagon papers.
As I wrote a year ago:
9/11 Commission chair Thomas Kean points out that if "minders" had been present during the Commission's investigation, that would have been intimidation, which would have stemmed the flow of testimony from the witnesses:

Have We Learned Anything from the Bush Years? by George Washington
Fear makes people stupid.
It makes us unable to think straight. And it makes us give up our power to tough-talking authoritarians.
War Is Stupid
And since the "war on terror" is now being expanded to Yemen, it is worth remembering that experts state that the "war on terror" has been counterproductive for keeping us safe. For example, a leading advisor to the U.S. military, the hawkish Rand Corporation, released a study in 2008 called "How Terrorist Groups End: Lessons for Countering al Qa'ida".
The report confirms what experts have been saying for years: the war on terror is actually weakening national security (see this, this and this).
As a press release about the study states:
"Terrorists should be perceived and described as criminals, not holy warriors, and our analysis suggests that there is no battlefield solution to terrorism."
And see this.

Little Known Facts About Afghanistan and Bin Laden - George Washington
Evidence which has come out over the last couple of years makes it clear that top Bush administration officials knew that Saddam didn't have weapons of mass destruction and knew that Saddam had no connection with 9/11.
It is now reasonably obvious that the Bush administration was looking for an excuse to oust Saddam, and - in the words of the Downing Street Memo - “the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy”.
9/11 Blogger George Washington has recently uncovered two really great quotes about 9/11. Fox News in a secret memo implicitly admits that there is a problem with the 'official story' of 9/11:
"The so-called 9/11 Commission has already been meeting. In fact, this is its eighth session. The fact that former Clinton and both former and current Bush administration officials are testifying gives it a certain tension, but this is not 'what did he know and when did he know it' stuff. Don't turn this into Watergate."
Here is the PDF transcripts of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Abu Faraj al-Libi and Ramzi Binalshibh (in that order):
Source of article (and link to CNN video of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed):
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed: I was behind 9/11, transcript says
• Transcript is from Saturday hearing at Guantanamo; released by Pentagon
• Mohammed: "I was responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z"
• Transcript says he's responsible for other attacks, including Bali bombing
• Mohammed is among 14 prisoners identified by U.S. as "high value"
From Mike Mount
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has admitted responsibility for the 9/11 attacks and a catalog of other terrorist acts, according to an edited transcript of a tribunal at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
