A large number of new entries have been added to the Complete 9/11 Timeline at History Commons, covering a wide range of events relating to the 9/11 attacks. Entries cover, among other things, various warning signs of what was going to happen on September 11, 2001; the actions of John O'Neill, the FBI's top al-Qaeda expert; and new details of what happened on the day of 9/11.

CIA Was Initially Unsure Which Group Was Likely Behind the Attacks

Many entries describe events that occurred on September 11, 2001. Some of them describe the initial reactions and responses of government and military agencies to the attacks on the World Trade Center.

A number of senior officials in the United States government and military gave warnings in the week before September 11, 2001, or early on the morning of September 11, that seem to have predicted the 9/11 attacks with chilling accuracy.

These men--as is described below--voiced concerns that Osama bin Laden would carry out an attack in the U.S. in the near future; warned that an al-Qaeda attack that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Americans could happen "at any time"; expressed concern that terrorists would attack the World Trade Center; warned about a "seminal event" occurring in the U.S. in which "hundreds, if not thousands" of Americans would be killed; said that "someone [is] going to attack us in a fashion we did not anticipate"; warned that "something big" was about to happen; and suggested the possibility of an attack taking place that would be equivalent to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, in which over 2,400 Americans died.

My novel triller "Nanospuren" (read: Nanotraces), heavily inspired by the life of John O'Neill (and Steven Jones), was published on 08-16.
Good critics so far, the first 100 copies are nearly sold. I tell the story of all anomalies on 9/11 within the frame story, like what you could have known if you were watching tv that day- that's quite a lot- and the stories of John O'Neill and Steven Jones as separate storylines.
Especially the O'Neill story gave me all freedom to develope a real sinister plot behind the curtains.
After reading it nobody can say he does not smell a rat- even hidden as "fictional" thriller with changed names and described as "pure fiction".

Yesterday germany's second state televison ZDF aired the first part of "Der 11. September 2001- die wahre Geschichte" (9/11- the true story)
at 8.15 pm. Produced by ZDF History Guido Knopp, directed by Florian Huber and Marc Brasse.

It's a new and by their own produced "soft-docu" with actors, playing John O'Neill, Mohammed Atta and Ziad Jarrah, it's style reminds me to "Countdown to Ground Zero" from History Channel...

German second state sponsored television channel ZDF will do another take on 9/11 this anniversary.
On Aug. 23rd on 8.15 pm MEZ, main media time, they start with their first of two episodes on 9/11, called "It started in Hamburg"

A week later, same hour, they will send "The day of terror".

Both episodes will take a closer look on John O'Neill, e.g. it seems that they using sequences out of "Countdown to Ground Zero", the 2006 History Channel production.
The last two productions from ZDF were co-productions with Mike Rudins BBC takes. This time not.

Below is the link to a “Fifth Estate” story about Cheney which is well worth watching. It ironically documents the extent he went to, to avoid fighting in Vietnam. (four draft deferments and a “hardship” exemption because his wife, whom he recently married to avoid going to war, was pregnant.) Coincidentally his child was born nine months after this form of exemption was announced. Got lucky I guess! It also documents his rise to power including many lies and much deceit along the way. January 1996: Squad Uniting Prosecutors and FBI Agents Begins Focusing on Bin Laden

I just came across this movie posted on Google. This half hour film is presented part in the spirit of Loose Change and part Oil, Smoke and Mirrors. It is not the best 9/11 film out there, but is a decent introduction to some of the basic issues. The first half covers the PNAC-type background, while the second half concerns the events of the day of 9/11 and its aftermath. John O'Neill gets lots of love in here. There is a bizarre DC sniper segue that I didn't understand. I think I have seen this before, but the explosion at the 21:22 minute mark is AMAZING.
