Conspiracy Types Lecture Regular Folks at Ground Zero - The Village Voice: Power Plays

The fifth anniversary of 9-11 brought more sorrow and anguish to New York, but also more questioning of the official narrative of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

Hundreds of 9-11 conspiracists paraded across the street from ground zero Monday with their brazen signs—"9-11 WAS A U.S. BLACK OP"—during the solemn reading of the names of the 2,749 who perished in the twin towers. A surprising many people stopped to listen and seriously consider the "proof" offered by members of the so-called 9-11 truth movement, who spent the day lecturing people about how the towers were felled by explosives.

"Well, I do have questions," remarked one woman who came by on her lunch hour. "Like how were these hijackers who could barely fly a Cessna supposed to have piloted big planes into these buildings?"

A manic guy with bleach-blond hair seized on that to launch a rant about the maximum flame temperature of jet fuel and the physics of molten steel, dismissing recent efforts by the U.S. State Department and the National Institute of Standards and Technology to counter such rampant, freeform "expertise" as yet more "propaganda."

"Idiots!" shrieked a man overhearing him. "You guys probably believe Elvis is still alive."

But if people have doubts about what happened, it shouldn’t be surprising considering the lengths the Bush administration has gone to manipulate 9-11 and distort pre-war intelligence to justify the war in Iraq. And when people needed clear information about the air quality downtown, the feds instead gave them false assurances.

Just got a first hand report from JR Guerra as to the activities this morning in NYC.

First off, he said that the protests at Ground Zero this morning went well. He approximated 2,000 activists at Ground Zero and said there was no provocation and that everyone behaved well. He said that Korey Rowe had handed out 800 copies of LC2E, and 200+ t-shirts. He said that once they had left Ground Zero they went to the financial district to protest in front of Spitzer's office and Silverstein's office, and that the police were very nice and had blocked off all of Broadway street for them. He said that they were currently on the way to city hall and were still running strong with a very large group of protesters.

So, since I can't find anyone at all reporting on it I think this is the first report, please post other reports in the comments as you come across them.

The question is, why hasn't he been indicted? According to this, OBL was indicted for a terrorist attack in 1999, but they can't be bothered to indict him for 9/11? Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is a longtime and prominent member of the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted" list, which notes his role as the suspected mastermind of the deadly U.S. embassy bombings in East Africa on Aug. 7, 1998. But another more infamous date -- Sept. 11, 2001 -- is nowhere to be found on the same FBI notice.

The curious omission underscores the Justice Department's decision, so far, to not seek formal criminal charges against bin Laden for approving al-Qaeda's most notorious and successful terrorist attack. The notice says bin Laden is "a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world" but does not provide details.

Good, because these "leaders" unwillingness to do anything about this particular situation has outraged all of us for years. Another professor comes forward, follow the link to the article where you will have an opportunity to submit feedback.

A tenured professor of psychology at the University of New Hampshire believes an "elite" group within the federal government orchestrated the September 11th attacks on America.

William Woodward has already raised that possibility in his classroom and later this year hopes to teach a class that would explore Sept. 11th "in psychological terms -- terms like belief, conspiracy, fear, truth, courage, group dynamics."

He may not get the chance. Several state leaders yesterday criticized Woodward for bringing the radical theories into the classroom.

9/11 Litmus Test Debuts

The goal is to require every candidate running for the US House or Senate in 2006 to publicly declare whether he/she will support a truly independent re-investigation of the events surrounding 9/11.
Here are the steps:

1. Develop a Roster of all Senate and Congressional candidates from all parties;

2. Poll Each and Every Candidate regarding their awareness of/interest in 9/11 issues, and their support for a new and truly independent See poll questionnaire at www.911truth.org

3. Publish All Candidate Responses on the website

4. Encourage Widespread Bird-Dogging at all public electoral events with thought-provoking 9/11 questions, until every campaign spokesperson will find it necessary to prepare a position paper on 9/11 truth.

5. Contribute Personalized 9/11 Teaching Materials to communities where truth candidates are contending with official story defenders

My local candidate polling campaign here in Central Florida was launched Saturday August 19, when I yielded to the invitations in my inbox and attended two political events.

My goal? Get the candidates or their representatives to fill out the Candidate's 9/11 Truth Poll. So I decided to photograph them as they received the questionnaire from me. This way, they can never say that they did not receive it.

Ladies and Gentlemen -

New Mexico 911 Truth will meet outside Senator Bingaman's office in
Santa Fe, 119 E. Marcy Street, across from the SF Public Library at
10AM, Thursday, August 24th. We will go on from there, through Mayor
Coss's office at City Hall to Senator Domenici's office in the Federal
Building near the Post Office, from there to Governor Richardson's
office in the Roundhouse, and finally to Rep. Udall's office at 811
St. Michael's Drive, Suite 104. Part of our State delegation, Senator
Grubesic and Rep. Peter Wirth are copied on this message and, if I
hear from them in time, we may be able to visit with them as well.

There are now 28 signatories to the attached updated letter and more
are coming in every week. It is now time for each signatory to send me
their mailing address which I will make available to our elected
representatives so they can send us formal responses. Ten or so people
will travel with us from Bingaman's office on. Each office has been
notified and their representatives are copied on this message.
