Dave Thomas, a physics and math teacher, equates the Niels Harrit peer reviewed paper published in a scientific journal to a contradicting article published by "Skeptical Inquirer" in this 60 minute debate held two weeks ago on WMNF (WMNF.org, archives "Radio Activity", June 28) a public radio station in the Tampa Bay area. The program was originally scheduled as an interview but was unexpectantly changed to a debate the day before - possibly because the host decided to air an Amy Goodman special about the recent Supreme Court health care decison. Regardless, we were pleased that the program was aired at all and that Richard was able to cram in the time between a film presentation the night before in Tampa and one to follow the broadcast that same evening in St. Petersburg/Pinellas Park.

Thomas makes a few bizarre statements during the debate such as buildings are capable of falling faster than the rate of gravity and his unique explanation for the presence of micro spheres. He claims that the micro iron spheres found around the WTC site resulted from metal filings created during the colapse of the buildings and burned in much the same way that steel wool forms metal spheres when ignited by a cigarette lighter. With the vast amounts of metal spheres and motlen iron found around the WTC site, just how big would a ball a steel wool have to be?

Institute reviews policy after controversial event booked by Zaha Hadid Architects associate

The RIBA is reviewing its policy on hiring out 66 Portland Place following a storm of criticism over its hosting of a group claiming that New York’s Twin Towers were brought down through a controlled explosion.

Leading architects on both sides of the Atlantic hit out at the institute this week after American architect Richard Gage, part of the group Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, delivered a lecture at RIBA HQ on Monday night.

The venue was booked by fellow American and RIBA member Craig Phillip Kiner, an associate at Zaha Hadid Architects.

Richard Gage, AIA, architect for more than 23 years, uses only scientific and forensic principles to argue that the the three World Trade Center skyscrapers could not have collapsed on September 11th 2001, by plane impacts and jet fuel alone.

He will explain how the official FEMA and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technologies) reports provide incomplete and contradictory accounts of the towers’ destruction. Attention will be given to World Trade Center 7, a 47-storey building which was not hit by an aircraft, yet also collapsed that day at near free-fall acceleration.(1) Never before or since has any sort of collapse happened to a skyscraper due solely to fire.

Neither have fires in buildings ever turned solid steel girders into “Swiss cheese”; shocking two Materials Science professors who expected to see distortion and bending but not holes.(2)

The New York Times called these findings “the deepest mystery uncovered in the investigation …. the steel apparently melted away, but no fire in any of the buildings was believed to be hot enough to melt steel outright.” (3)

Mr. Gage, from San Francisco, is a member of the American Institute of Architects. In 2006 he founded Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911Truth), with a membership of over 1,500 licensed engineers and architects.
