When we launched 9/11 Truth News, we knew we would be attacked.

And no one on the team was surprised when the first attacks came from people claiming to be on the side of 9/11 truth.

On Monday August 30, 2010, it came to my attention that I was the target of three hit pieces that had been published in rapid succession. The most prominent of these attacks came from Kevin Barrett, a self-declared 9/11 truth leader with a long history of actions and statements considered by many to be extremely discrediting to the 9/11 truth movement. Under an ugly, libelous headline on his "Truth Jihad" blog, Barrett issued a venomous litany of bizarre accusations against me: I'm probably an agent of the state, perhaps stalking his family, I'm a "wrecker" getting him kicked off conference lineups and - to top it off - there's evidence that I may actually be living a secret double life as a supporter of the official 9/11 story.

Barrett has been accusing associates of mine of being agents for years now, so these kinds of weird lies are nothing new. This time though, his headlined defamation was something altogether more sickening. The filth oozing forth from Kevin Barrett does not deserve to be dignified with any kind of response whatsoever. But the fact that these smears represent an attack on a dedicated activist with a very strong record - by a supposed "9/11 truth leader" with a large audience (multiple appearances on FOX News, a radio show, books for sale) - at a very critical time in this movement - demands that the issue be addressed.

BBC's Third Tower: 30 Pieces of Good News

The one-hour BBC program The Third Tower should have a positive effect on spreading the truth about what happened to WTC 7. Despite its attempt to debunk by twisting and omitting facts, there is much to cheer about.

1) There is a WTC 7, many have never heard of it.

2) No plane hit WTC 7.

3) WTC 7 fell down.

4) Several videos of WTC 7 falling down are shown.

5) The collapse is compared visually to a controlled demolition.

6) Barry Jennings tells of hearing multiple explosions in WTC 7.

7) Barry Jennings was told while in WTC 7 "Get out of there, get out of there now", which sounds very suspicious.

8) Barry Jennings' time-line is not contradicted by anything Barry Jennings says.

9) After seven years, no final report on the collapse of WTC 7 has appeared. The 9/11 Commission never mentioned the collapse of WTC 7.

10) The program will generate sales and Internet hits of 'Loose Change'.

'9/11 Truther' : I may break voting record

As a UW faculty member Kevin Barrett took aim at the US government saying it was behind the 9/11 attacks. Now he's taking aim at the 3rd Congressional District Seat running as a Libertarian Party candidate. He says he brings the ability to bring more votes than LP candidates traditionally do, rather than the usual 2 percent vote he believes he can pull 11 percent of votes against a Democrat or Republican.

Part of Barrett's strategy involves educating people on his opposition to the Iraq War and incumbent Democrat Ron Kind's support of it.

"Once people hear that Ron Kind voted repeatedly for the Iraq War every one I talked to says 'I'm voting for you"

Businessman Ben Olson III has also filed for the LP candidacy. Barrett says Olson come from the old libertarian thought that often wants to "shut down every aspect of the government overnight." Barrett calls himself a new libertarian.

"The government actually needs to be strengthened in a certain way so it can go after the worst abuses of private power."

University of Wisconsin law professor Ann Althouse has upped the ante. Now she says 9/11 truth is not just "truly nutty," it's "despicable," and 9/11 truth-seekers are like "Nazis or Klansmen."

If it's that nutty and despicable, it ought to be easy for a law professor to shoot down in a debate. But once again, Ann has taken the cowardly route of hurling vicious insults while refusing a polite offer for a debate based on logic and evidence. Below is my recent correspondence with her.

I am writing to request that you back up your characterization of 9/11 skepticism as "nutty," and your many public attacks on me, by stepping forward to defend the official story, using logic and evidence, in a free and fair debate.

As you may know, last year the UW-Madison History Club attempted to sponsor a debate or panel discussion pitting critics of the government's version of 9/11 against its defenders. After thoroughly canvassing the UW faculty, especially the History and Political Science departments, they were unable to find any defenders.

Congratulations to Richard, Lon, James and Jeannon, and a huge thanks to everybody who wrote to Althouse, the UW, and/or the local newspapers. This must be by far the biggest flood of 9/11 truth every published in the letters section of any mainstream US newspaper!

Ann Althouse, a law professor who seems to have a very high opinion of herself, needs to find the courage to defend her assertion that 9/11 skeptics are "nutty." If our arguments are that weak, it should be a piece of cake for an experienced law professor to take them apart...right?

On Jan. 21, University of Wisconsin law professor Ann Althouse wrote on her blog, “I don’t know why the University of Wisconsin has not rehired 9/11 conspiracy believer Kevin Barrett to teach a course on the history of Islam. But if we know a person believes something truly nutty, are we not entitled to use that as evidence of his intelligence, judgment, and trustworthiness?”

This is an amazing statement coming from a professor of law — a position that presupposes a respect for carefully considered evidence. Her assault on Mr. Barrett, in which she makes no effort to consider the countless facts backing the so-called Truth Movement, is shamefully flippant...

...there is little doubt that in a courtroom, in which she would face that army of experts and their facts, she would be reduced to dust on the floor.

Dear Editor: Even before I read Kevin Barrett's gratuitous swipe at Isthmus in his Aug. 11 letter, I was inclined to defend The Capital Times against the attacks being leveled by the so-called 9/11 truth-seekers.

Focusing on an interesting and revealing moment -- an expression of pure paranoia by a presenter at a recent conference -- is not, as Barrett and others claim, an abdication of journalistic responsibility. It's what a good reporter should do.

As these critics noted, anyone with access to the Internet can obtain uncritical and comprehensive coverage of this conference, and the far-fetched theories that underlie it. The reporter was quite right to call attention to a moment that cut through the facade.

Dear Editor: Last year The Capital Times distinguished itself as the first mainstream U.S. daily to publish not one but two hard-hitting 9/11 truth op-ed columns -- both by yours truly.

In one, I asked why the media weren't covering the dozens of former high-level military, intelligence and administration officials who are charging or implying that 9/11 was an inside job. (See http://patriotsquestion911.com.)

Then, instead of covering these generals, colonels, CIA officers, Bush administration officials and other notables, the media decided to cover a part-time university lecturer -- me. I would have thought it more significant that Col. Robert Bowman, a Cal Tech Ph.D., much-decorated fighter pilot and former chief of the Star Wars missile defense program under two presidents, is running for high office on a 9/11 truth platform than that a part-time university lecturer, however charming and articulate, is doing 9/11 activism in his spare time.

For many Americans, 9/11 is far from being a closed case. More and more voices are raising questions about (who were) the true authors of the attacks. Among them is Kevin Barrett, coordinator of the interfaith movement for the truth about 9/11, the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth (mujca.com). M. Barrett will be in Morocco from May 6th onward. The purpose of his trip is an attempt to find the Saudi Arabian Waleed al-Shehri, who has been presented, along with his brother Wail, as one of five hijackers who took over Flight 11 out of Boston. One problem: shortly afterward the Saudi newspaper as-Sharq al-Awsat reported that the same Waleed al-Shehri was contacting the American and Saudi embassies proclaiming his innocence. At the time, the American authorities said it was a case of mistaken identity. That hypothesis doesn't stand up, since alongside the photo and birthdate, which are indeed those of the Waleed al-Shehri who lives in Morocco, there is also the birthdate and photo of his brother. In short, it is a muddle that casts a monstrous shadow over the events of 9/11, a shadow that Kevin Barrett will try to cast light upon. Will the truth emerge from Morocco?

Kevin Barrett has got back in the news again, and the Wisconsin TV station has put up a poll question on their website today,

Just now there were only 314 votes, with 61% saying No Way and only 33% saying Yes, definitely.
We have a chance to turn that around.

Kevin of course is the professor and 9/11 Truth Activist who has come under heavy fire from neocons in Wisconsin who are pressing hard to have him fired for his views on 9/11.
