A government scientist sacked for exposing the dangers to firefighters from the caustic air at Ground Zero in the days after 9/11 got her job back on Monday.

A federal court ordered that Cate Jenkins, a chemist at the Environmental Protection Agency, be reinstated to her job with back pay.

Her lawyer said the decision, although based on matters of legal process, amounted to vindication for Jenkins's claims that the EPA had covered up the danger posed to first responders and others in lower Manhattan from the asbestos and highly corrosive dust that rose from the wreckage of the World Trade Center.

It was also a rare victory for whistleblowers, said lawyer Paula Dinerstein. "This doesn't happen that often."

I didn’t set off to become an expert in World Trade Center (WTC) steel but recently it occurred to me I was becoming one. The thought first dawned on me about a month ago, after I spent the day filming at The National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) as part of a documentary I have been working on about WTC steel.

I spent hours with Stephen W. Banovic, a materials research scientist in the Metallurgy Division of the Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory at NIST, and Michael E. Newman, senior communications officer at NIST. Both men had spent more than six years of their lives living and breathing the WTC steel during the intensive investigation into the collapse of the Twin Towers.

In the ongoing quest to define reality about the events of 9/11/01, the MSM is pretending to ask the public what they "learned" about 9/11, or as in the case with NPR, using the official story mouthpieces to simply tell the public their version. In response, so far, one person on a list I'm on wrote this:

"Yesterday NPR did a program on 9/11. The program’s title was “What We’ve Learned Since 9/11.” Being the dope I am, I called in and to the screener, I said that what I’ve learned is that 1,000 foot buildings can’t come down in 10 seconds. His response was, “We’re not even going to go there.” I hung up. What’s new?"

I wonder how many times that screener had to say that.

Kids' small donations pay for inflated salaries

Schoolchildren thought their penny jars and bake-sale proceeds would go toward building a 9/11 memorial at Ground Zero -- not the six-figure salaries of nonprofit execs. But 11 staffers at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum each pulled down more than $170,000 in total compensation in 2009, according to the most recent filings. Four execs took home more than $320,000.

Foundation President Joseph Daniels, 38, pocketed $371,307 after receiving hefty raises three years in a row -- 28 percent in 2006, when he was promoted from acting president, followed by 12 percent and 6 percent.

In a recent interview published by The Daily Mail in the U.K., the Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington spoke briefly about his time in New York around 9/11/01:

“I’m from New York, I was at Ground Zero and it changed my life. I’m a native New Yorker to the day I die. I had to be there. I was stunned. I was as close as I am to you now looking down in the hole days after it happened. For everyone involved it was traumatic. I saw people just sitting there exhausted because the guys had worked two or three days straight.”

A survey by Elaph, the most respected electronic daily in the Arab world, saw 58% object to the building of the WTC mosque.

I was astounded that the Wall Street Journal has not censored many of the comments posted.  Many of these comments would have been removed by Alternet or CommonDreams or Counterpunch or Truthout.

I responded with a comment and it has not been removed, even though it was boldly pro 9/11 Truth.  How long they will let it stay there remains to be seen.  Maybe some others could post.  Here is my comment:

The best part of this article is the comments section, which I have not included.  Click on the link below to see them.  Common Dreams censors most 9/11 truth comments, and for one comment which was not inflammatory at all, I was censored apparently for life.  But there are quite a few that address 9/11 truth issues.

Just wondering if there is much in the way of organized events in NYC on this September 11, the ninth anniversary of the attacks. I haven't seen much mentioned, but it seems like a golden opportunity to present to the public what we know and represent.
Washington DC is always a great place to get the word out, particularly to our policy makers and the news media there.
But I think for the actual anniversaries of 9/11, Ground Zero is the place where rallies should be held, and even meetings and talks, etc.
Time in nearing, and I haven't heard of plans.

This September 11 we will begin the year leading up to the tenth anniversary of 9/11. 

While much has been accomplished, with so much great work by so many in compiling evidence that the official story was a lie, we still have not broken through to the mainstream press or even most of the alternative press about our evidence and facts.

I am proposing a plan for the entire year leading up to and ending with the tenth anniversary of 9/11 that will hopefully bring attention to the truths as we know them.

I think a big demonstration on 9/11/09 at ground zero would be a great start.  Then each week a different state will have activities and programs, maybe in their capitol city or major city, and with fifty states, that would take us right up to the tenth anniversary, in which a massive rally and demonstration could take place at ground zero.

Hey everyone. I just got off the phone with Michele Little, who's given me an update on a developing medical issue with Janette MacKinlay. Although I'm not at liberty to disclose her exact condition yet, I offered to make a post asking for some positive thoughts to be sent her way. Needless to say, she needs them right now.

So, this is a request for anyone reading this to keep Janette in mind and hope for a speedy recovery, I'll post again with any information as it becomes available.

New York '9/11 hero police chief' jailed

He has become the first police chief in the city's history to be thrown into jail. In a hearing in White Plains, New York, Judge Stephen Robinson said he was revoking the $500,000 bail granted to Kerik, 54, who led the police under the previous administration of then-mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

"The government made a motion to revoke his bail. After a three-and-a-half hour hearing, the judge agreed to revoke the bail in order for him be sent to jail," Mr Hadad said. The former police chief faces 142 years in jail and fines of almost five million dollars if convicted on all the charges.

Kerik is accused of secretly accepting more than $250,000 in renovations to his apartment from a construction firm with suspected mafia ties while he was Corrections Department commissioner under Giuliani. Kerik, who pleaded guilty in a state court last year to accepting the work, is also accused of not declaring a total of $236,000 in rent he received on an luxury apartment in New York's posh Upper East Side.

"Huge New York Rehearsal for Next Terror Attack"

Hundreds of firefighters and police swarmed Ground Zero Sunday, the site where the World Trade Center once stood, in the largest security exercise here since the September 11, 2001 attacks.

As part of an elaborate dress rehearsal for a possible future terror strike, rescue workers exploded simulated bombs in a commuter train tunnel linking Manhattan to neighboring New Jersey, burrowed beneath the Hudson River.

"Full-scale exercises like today's give us an opportunity to practice how to integrate the vast response resources available in New York City and establish a command structure under the Citywide Incident Management System," said Joseph Bruno, commissioner at the city's Office of Emergency Management.

As the tunnel filled with smoke, scores of firefighters wearing oxygen masks practiced maneuvers to rescue some 700 to 800 passengers -- the number who might be expected to become stranded along the vital commuter line in the event of a real disaster.

The local tabloids in New York were huffing and puffing on Friday over a decision by the Port Authority to call the eventual tower at the World Trade Center site simply '1 World Trade Center' rather than the 'Freedom Tower.' In relating reactions to the decision, the article in the NY Post made sure to quote Charles Burlingame's sister, Debra:

Molten Concrete Flowed Like Lava Under Ground Zero

These photos are from a current New York Police Museum display of recovered firearms that had been stored by the US Customs House inside WTC6, prior to and during 9/11.

As the actual display sign indicates, the entire hand gun on the left, and two pistol barrels on the right are completely embedded in a mass of solidified concrete, melted by the intense fire and liquefied so that it flowed “like lava”.

What they have neglected to consider is Jet fuel and office contents can produce a maximum burn temperature of 1,800 degrees, over 1,000 degrees cooler than the sustained 3,000+ degree burn temperatures required to liquefy construction grade concrete.

Therefore, this becomes one more of the countless items of absolute evidence that the fires were far hotter, and burned far longer than jet fuel could possibly produce. Once again, the laws of physics must be suspended for the official government cover-up story to be believed.

The owners of ground zero have started a Web site to publicize the rebuilding of the World Trade Center, a day after saying many projects under way would be delayed and cost more.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on Friday launched http://www.wtcprogress.com. The site has photographs and video of construction projects at the 16-acre site, and offers a guide for tourists who visit ground zero.

The agency also lists the milestones it says it will meet to build a $3.2 billion transit hub, a Sept. 11 memorial and a 1,776-foot skyscraper at the site. The agency on Thursday announced new schedules and budgets for several projects at ground zero and says it will post updates on its progress four times a year.

Palin Expresses 9/11 Health Concern

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, last week expressed concerns for Lower Manhattan residents and workers suffering from ailments believed to have been caused by the environmental fallout from the destruction of the Twin Towers. Tribute WTC Visitor Center officials say Palin made the remarks Thursday when she visited the center across the street from ground zero.

Lee Ielpi, the center’s co-founder, said Palin was taken aback when he told her of the large number of workers, residents and volunteers who have respiratory and other health problems because of 9/11. “We have to do something to help these people,” Ielpi recalls Palin saying.

Ielpi, a retired firefighter whose son was killed trying to rescue people from the towers, spent months searching for his son and other people killed in the attack.

Reports warn of problems at ground zero hub in NYC

NEW YORK (AP) — The glittering, steel and glass domed rail hub had seemed for years to be the only thing that was going right at ground zero.

Lately, not so much.

The World Trade Center rail station — a planned architectural masterpiece with steel ribs jutting like a bird's wings from the dome, a retractable skylight and a vast, naturally lit concourse — is currently hundreds of millions of dollars over budget and five years behind schedule.

The delays are creating a domino effect, slowing construction of the Sept. 11 memorial and most other projects on the problem-ridden 16-acre site.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the owners of ground zero and the agency building the hub, is expected to announce another re-design of the project this week along with new cost estimates that put the price tag at around $3 billion, more than $500 million over its original budget.
