I recently received this very inspiring update from Congressman Robert Wexler's office.

Ron Paul & Swiss Cheese

Ron Paul & Swiss Cheese

The perceived threat of Islamic fundamentalism is keeping many voters from considering Ron Paul for president. That perception is based on the official story of 9-11, the swiss cheese of explanations. Pointing out the holes is easy, getting people to look is not, but that is the key to widespread acceptance of his message.

I participated in my precinct Republican Party caucus last weekend. I am happy to announce that Ron Paul won our county. While I was there, I had the opportunity to speak with several people about their candidate of choice. The one position that McCain, Huckabee, et al. supporters completely reject from Ron Paul, and one I couldn't immediately counter in casual conversation, was the threat of Islamic terrorism.

New Exhibit: War On Terror Didn't Start On 9/11

I wonder if this exhibit includes examples of such false flag/synthetic terror attacks as The Gulf of Tonkin Incident, the sinking of the USS Maine, or the planned (but not executed) Operation Northwoods?

The War on Terror has been a focus for America since 9/11, but it's actually nothing new in America. A new exhibit at the Minnesota History Center explores the history of terrorism in our country, John Reger Reports.

Return of the 9/11 President

President Bush continues to dispute all the predictions that his presidency will go down in history as a miserable failure.

Or, as he put it in an interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News over the weekend: "It's very hard to write the future history of America before the current history hasn't been fully written."

But with the economy tanking, the war in Iraq dragging on, our nation's moral standing in ashes and voters hungering for a new direction, how exactly does Bush intend to go out a winner?

One possible answer: Try to change the subject back to 9/11.

Steven Lee Myers writes in the New York Times that the administration's announcement yesterday of capital murder charges against half a dozen men allegedly linked to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks will bring the election-year focus back on Bush's favorite issues.

9/11 Truther to Speak at Stanford Law [Stephen Spruiell]

From Stanford Law School, former NR associate editor Anthony Dick sends word that a group has invited a 9/11 truther to speak this afternoon:

The Civil Rights Civil Liberties Society has invited Sander Hicks to speak at the law school today, billing him as "a multimedia political activist committed to the preservation of civil liberties and civil rights for all Americans."

In fact, Mr. Hicks is a 9/11 conspiracy theorist committed to the proposition that the terrorist attacks of 9/11 were orchestrated by the United States government, which is now murdering its citizens to cover up the truth. In his own words:

"The 9/11 commission was a coverup. . . . 9/11 was the product of a conspiracy — specifically a conspiracy between the CIA, Pakistani intelligence, and the so-called al-Qaeda organization, which is really most likely just a product of Pakistani intelligence and CIA intelligence."

Pentagon charges Sept. 11 suspects

By PAULINE JELINEK, Associated Press Writer

The Pentagon has charged six detainees at Guantanamo Bay with murder and war crimes in connection with the Sept. 11 attacks, it was announced Monday. Officials said they'll seek the death penalty in what would be the first trials under the terrorism-era military tribunal system.

"These charges allege a long term, highly sophisticated, organized plan by al-Qaida to attack the United States of America," Brig. Gen. Thomas W. Hartmann, the legal adviser to the tribunal system, told reporters. He added that the charges have been sworn "against six individuals alleged to be responsible for the planning and execution of the attacks" which occurred on Sept. 11, 2001 and killed nearly 3,000 people.

Hartmann said the six include Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the attacks in which hijacked planes were flown into buildings in New York and Washington. Another hijacked plane crashed in the fields of western Pennsylvania.

They are also vocal supporters of impeachment and a new 9/11 investigation, which many Paul supporters wish he would have stood behind.

Do You Believe In Life After Paul?

The Ron Paul campaign is over. While he may hang in there for a few more weeks, the hope of Dr. Paul having any sway at a brokered convention has been dashed as he failed to pick up a substantial amount of delegates tonight on Super Tuesday. While he did have some double digit showings in North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, and Alaska, these winner take all states did not boost his profile in the end. The only strong states he has left are Washington and Texas, but after his poor showing tonight it is unlikely that he will succeed in those states. As much as it hurts me to admit it, Ron Paul is finished.

Charlie Wilson vs Osama bin Laden

Posted January 2, 2008 | 10:40 AM (EST)

The movie Charlie Wilson's War is good light hearted entertainment which can also trigger a serious discussion about a pivotal and painful event in recent history. It is based on a book which records the true story, a sober, almost unbelievable account of one man's power to earmark billions of dollars with the help of the Speaker of the House whose motivation was to protect a "good buddy" from embarrassment.

Charlie Wilson, described by Molly Ivins as a "pussy hound" is a swashbuckling, heavy drinking, dope sniffing all American Texan that the guys in the bar can admire.

When told stories of the Soviets cutting the throats of children and bayoneting babies in the wombs of Afghan women, Charlie appropriately weeps.

After brief moments of culture at the Kennedy Center he works out sexually in his well placed Washington apartment. We cheer for Charlie and hope that he'll stay sober and score big.

In Senate, a White House Victory on Eavesdropping

WASHINGTON — A White House plan to broaden the National Security Agency’s wiretapping powers won a key procedural victory in the Senate on Thursday, as backers defeated a more restrictive plan by Senate Democrats that would have imposed more court oversight on government spying.

Flight instructor urged bosses to contact FBI about Moussaoui

The Bush administration paid a $5 million reward to a former Minnesota flight instructor who provided authorities with information that led to the arrest and conviction of 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui.

The recipient, Clarence Prevost, was honored Thursday at a closed-door ceremony at the State Department, although the payout was secretly authorized last fall by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and the Justice Department, U.S. officials told The Associated Press.

The reward from the State Department's "Rewards for Justice" program is the first and only one to date to a U.S. citizen related to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the officials said.

Kucinich To Drop Out of Presidential Race

By Michael Falcone

Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich said today that he is ending his long-shot presidential bid, thinning the Democratic presidential field to four candidates.

In an interview with the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Mr. Kucinich said he plans to hold a news conference Friday afternoon where he will announce that he is “transitioning out of the presidential campaign.”

In a video posted on the Plain Dealer’s Web site, Mr. Kucinich said that he had not shared the news with anybody except the newspaper and his wife, Elizabeth.

Mr. Kucinich, who is serving his sixth term in Congress from Ohio’s 10th Congressional District, is up for re-election in 2008.

Bush opens wiretap documents to House

By PAMELA HESS, Associated Press Writer

Ending months of resistance, the White House has agreed to give House members access to secret documents about its warrantless wiretapping program, a congressional official said Thursday.

The Bush administration is trying to convince the House to protect from civil lawsuits the telecommunications companies that helped the government eavesdrop on Americans without the approval of a court. Congress created the court 30 years ago to oversee such activities.

House Intelligence and Judiciary committee members and staff will begin reading the documents at the White House Thursday, said an aide to Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-Texas.

Reyes and ranking Republican Rep. Pete Hoekstra of Michigan requested the documents in May, saying they would not support telecom immunity without them. The Senate committees were given the documents last fall.
