Cheney Corroborates His Early Arrival In The Bunker On 9/11

Here is an excerpt from the text of what Cheney said at the American Enterprise Institute on May 21, 2009:

"For me, one of the defining experiences was the morning of 9/11 itself. As you might recall, I was in my office in that first hour, when radar caught sight of an airliner heading toward the White House at 500 miles an hour. That was Flight 77, the one that ended up hitting the Pentagon. With the plane still inbound, Secret Service agents came into my office and said we had to leave, now. A few moments later I found myself in a fortified White House command post somewhere down below.

There in the bunker came the reports and images that so many Americans remember from that day - word of the crash in Pennsylvania, the final phone calls from hijacked planes, the final horror for those who jumped to their death to escape burning alive. In the years since, I've heard occasional speculation that I'm a different man after 9/11. I wouldn't say that. But I'll freely admit that watching a coordinated, devastating attack on our country from an underground bunker at the White House can affect how you view your responsibilities."

The first radar sighting of a plane approaching Washington was at 9:21 AM. In other words Cheney has confirmed his first account (and ours) that he was taken from his office earlier than 9:36 AM (as claimed in the 9/11 Report, p. 39), and first arrived in the bunker much earlier than "shortly before 10:00; perhaps at 9:58" (9/11 Report, p. 40, citing Cheney interview with Newsweek, November 19, 2001). There were of course no images to watch for some time from the crash in Pennsylvania, as opposed to the Pentagon.

What Cheney said yesterday adds nothing to his first account on September 16, 2001, but clearly discredits his second conflicting account for Newsweek two months later. (Cf. Peter Dale Scott, The Road to 9/11, 197-98, 200-01).

Viral "You are a Terrorist"-Ad tries to inform german population

I know this is in german, but i really like the tone of this small movie and shows the (hopefully!) current awaking in Germany for the topic.

Some weeks ago, the german government reached another step in control over the masses by officially introducing internet censorship. While a lot of other issues (like biometric ID passes, the right of the BKA (german FBI) to spy on computers connected to the internet via a trojan, the storing of internet and mobile phone traffic etc.) couldn't raise too much interest, the censorship of internet got huge over the last few month. This video picks up the hype by showing what we're actually up to: Everyone is a suspect, everyone is a terrorist now. The ad is based on a huge campaign started 2005 called "You are Germany" ("Du bist Deutschland"), which should spread positive energy around the country to do the right things as a German. Now, the population is slowly realizing what it's up to, so the ad is now translated to "You are a terrorist".

It's a pretty good text, pretty well spoken and well produced:

WASHINGTON – A former member of the 9/11 Commission criticizes former President George W. Bush in a new book for not responding to pre-attack intelligence on Osama bin Laden's intentions.

In "The Emperor's New Clothes: Exposing the Truth from Watergate to 9/11," Richard Ben-Veniste writes that CIA analysts told Bush that bin Laden was determined to strike inside the United States, "yet the president had done absolutely nothing to follow up."

A Democrat and a longtime Washington attorney, Ben-Veniste provides an inside account of the commission's three-hour interview with Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney on April 29, 2004.

Bush told the panel that the Aug. 6, 2001 intelligence summary — known as a presidential daily brief — was the only one he ever received on the domestic threat, Ben-Veniste writes.

NYC CAN welcomes foreign donations

Yesterday i asked, in reply to the blog about NYC CAN obtaining 40,000 signatures, if they would allow donations from non-US citizens. Also, SnowCrash asked if they could put up their bank info to allow people to wire transfer donations. Since nobody replied I decided to email NYC CAN and received this reply:

Hi [......],
Yes, anyone is allowed to donate. The effects of 9/11 have been felt worldwide, and hundreds of non-US citizens were murdered on that day, so we don't care what the media says about non-US citizens donating.
I would have to consult other people before deciding to put our bank info on the website. I have no knowledge of the subject, but it seems like it could be a security issue. So far we've not had any trouble with paypal.
Thanks for your support.
Best Regards,
Ted Walter

It might be worth pointing out that you can pay with a creditcard through PayPal without having to have or set up a PayPal account.

Zelikow Caught in a Whopper; Made False Statements to Author about Criminal Referral for NORAD, FAA

Documents recently found in the National Archives cast doubt on the integrity of the 9/11 Commission’s Executive Director Philip Zelikow. In an e-mail exchange with author Philip Shenon, Zelikow claimed that he first learned of a dispute on the commission over the investigation of false statements made by NORAD and FAA officials after it had been “percolating for a while” and was not involved in the initial stages of the argument. However, an e-mail chain (scroll down) found in the Archives by History Commons contributor paxvector shows that Zelikow had been involved in the issue from very near the beginning.

Zelikow made the claim he was not involved in the initial stages of the dispute in response to an allegation made by commission staffer John Azzarello and relayed by Shenon. After the staff investigators drafted a memo for the commissioners in early April 2004 outlining why they thought NORAD and FAA officials had deliberately lied to them to overstate the military’s readiness during the attacks, Zelikow “just buried that memo,” according to Azzarello. In response, Zelikow claimed that he had not even known of the issue at the start. The implication was that, as he had not known of it, it could not be him that was orchestrating--or even involved in--a dispute between the staff investigators and the commission’s lawyers, Daniel Marcus and Steve Dunne.

However, the newly found e-mail chain shows Zelikow did know of the issue in April, raising the question as to why he falsely told Shenon he did not. Zelikow is not known to be linked to the FAA, but, if the commission had referred the matter to the Justice Department and it had started a perjury investigation against NORAD officials, this would certainly have had the potential to embarrass his friends at the Pentagon. Zelikow is alleged to have husbanded the issue to ensure a less potentially embarrassing referral to the inspectors general of the FAA and Defense Department, who in the end blamed the false statements on innocent mistakes and poor logkeeping.

Keith Olbermann To Dick Cheney: "At Worst Sir, In The Deaths Of 9/11, You Are Negligent"

Olbermann: Former vice president made delusional claims about national security

5/21/2009

Finally tonight, as promised, a Special Comment about Mr. Cheney's speech. Neurotic. Paranoid. False to fact and false to reason. Forever self-rationalizing. His inner rage at his own impotence and failure dripping from every word and as irrational, as separated from the real world, as dishonest, as insane, as any terrorist.

The former vice president has today humiliated himself beyond redemption.

The delusional claims he has made this day could be proved by documentation and first-hand testimony to be the literal truth, and still he himself would be wrong, because the America he sought to impose upon the world and upon its own citizens, the dark hateful place of Dick Cheney's own soul, the place he to this hour defends and to this day prefers, is a repudiation of all that our ancestors, all that for which our brave troops of 200 years ago and two minutes ago, have sacrificed and fought.

Piece of debris with part number, CNN, 9/12, 01:10

Just found this in the archive.org mpeg's, clear footage of what appears to be a plane part with an identifiable number. I remember having seen this once before, but the quality of this new version is undoubtly much better.

Cheney Speech Reportedly Refers To 9/11 25 Times

I can guarantee that Osama Bin Laden hasn't used 9/11 as much as Dick Cheney has. - Jon

Former Vice President Dick Cheney continued his unprecedented attack on a young presidential administration Wednesday.

Even though Cheney’s predecessor, former Vice President Al Gore, waited a few years before hitting the Bush Administration, the media made sure to remind viewers that such instances were rare, and many hinted that he was wrong to do so, despite waiting. Meanwhile, Cheney, whose popularity ranks lower than most politicians past and present and who may conceivably face future charges for his role in countless alleged illegal acts and decisions, continues to garner tons of attention from the press.

Cheney’s speech at the American Enterprise Institute entitled “Keeping America Safe” - which began after President Obama’s speech ended though it was scheduled before - is garnering live coverage on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News Channel.

New David Ray Griffin Book: Osama bin Laden, Dead or Alive?

Osama bin Laden
Dead or Alive?
David Ray Griffin

“This book is part of a growing body of nonfiction that illuminates the cataclysmic gap between those with power, who do as they please, and those with knowledge, who are not heard. … President Obama [must] break out of the closed circle of power to connect with the kind of independent knowledge found in this book…”
—Robert David Steele Vivas, recovering spy, founder of the USMC Intelligence Center, CEO of OSS.Net, and CEO of Earth Intelligence Network

The US’s political discourse and foreign policy in recent years has been based on the assumption that Osama bin Laden is still alive. George W. Bush promised as president that he would get Osama bin Laden “dead or alive” and has been widely criticized for failing to do so. The US’s present military escalation in Afghanistan is said to be necessary to “get Osama bin Laden.” The news media regularly announce the appearance of new “messages from bin Laden.” But what if Osama bin Laden died in December 2001—which is the last time a message to or from him was intercepted?

Zelikow Failed to Mention Possible Criminal Referral of False Statements by NORAD and FAA in Memo to 9/11 Commission Heads

A document recently discovered in the National Archives shows that, in a memo to the 9/11 Commission’s chairman and vice-chairman on false statements made by NORAD and FAA officials about the failure of US air defenses, the commission’s Executive Director Philip Zelikow failed to mention the possibility of a criminal referral. This supports allegations that Zelikow “buried” the option of a criminal referral by the commission to the Justice Department for a perjury investigation. The document was found at the National Archives by HistoryCommons contributor paxvector and posted to the History Commons site at Scribd.

New Blog Ad sponsor

If you can afford it in these troubled times, please consider buying a book from our new Blog Ad sponsor, Milton Cook. His book is called, "That's the Way the Ball Bounces" and is linked in the Blog Ads section.

Having these private sponsors keeps the site costs paid for, and keeps us from using such un-pleasant alternatives as "googleads", which randomly scans the site for keywords, and coughs up horrible ads for John McCain, etc.

Morrissey booted from Scholars for 9/11 Truth and Justice?

I have been removed from the membership list at stj911.org, without a word of explanation, although I have been a member since the founding. I suspect it is because of my essay "9/11 Aletheia," which was published on OpEdNews.com (but rejected by 911blogger.com, also without explanation).

Is this any way for "Scholars" to behave? I can't say I'm surprised, but I was secretly hoping that I was wrong about the people who are obviously controlling things there. I was not. Read the essay at http://www.opednews.com/articles/9-11-Aletheia-by-Michael-Morrissey-090508-396.html .

I hope I don't get banned from 911blogger as well. We all need to think about what is going on here.

Youtube Restores The Alex Jones Channel 190509Youtube

Youtube has restored the official Alex Jones Youtube channel after legal counter claims were filed against the original claims of copyright violation.

It took two weeks for this issue to be resolved, with Youtube examining and determining exactly who had filed the original complaint.

The Infowars team had to write up legal papers and file counter claims in federal court, which eventually prompted the complainant to back down.
