Dr. Daniele Ganser Interview

Our guest this week is Swiss historian Dr. Daniele Ganser, author of the seminal book NATO's Secret Armies: Operation GLADIO and Terrorism in Western Europe, who joins us for a fascinating (though at times unsettling) conversation on the subject of Operation GLADIO.

Some of the columnists at LewRockwell.com (LRC) are starting to get a little bolder (I strongly suspect that several of them are 9/11 Truthers of long standing, but are seemingly discouraged by "the management" -- or by their own fears -- from being too open on the topic; yet they occasionally drop strong hints). Thanks to the Ron Paul presidential campaign of 2007-2008, LRC has become one of the ten most popular popular political sites on the internet, much to the consternation of the power elite (for example, the site is blocked to all or most overseas servicemen by the military). William Norman Grigg is one of the site's most popular and prolific writers. I believe he is very well respected by the site's readership, so his comments (as follows) may encourage at least a few close-minded LRC readers to study 9/11 Truth in a little greater detail:

Jacob Hornberger is the founder and president of The Future of Freedom Foundation. In a new editorial at LewRockwell.com (Operation Northwoods and the 9/11 Truthers), he admits that he believes Operation Northwoods is a valid historical fact; and he challenges neocon Charles Krauthammer as follows:

"How about it, Krauthammer? How about explaining your shock and outrage about the 9/11 Truthers to the Washington Post's readers in the context of a discussion about Operation Northwoods? I’m sure lots of people (including me) – would love to read your explanation."

Yes, that is an encouraging challenge; however, regrettably, Hornberger pulls his own version of a Krauthammer in the same editorial. It reads as follows:

"One possible reason for Krauthammer’s reaction [to 9/11 Truthers' claims] is that he simply isn’t convinced by the evidence that the Truthers have produced to make their case. Personally, this is the category I fall into. ... The 9/11 attacks were "blowback" from U.S. foreign policy. The 9/11 Truthers have not convinced me otherwise."

The Sacramento News and Review has published a somewhat positive review of the new book by Kathryn S. Olmsted, Real Enemies: Conspiracy Theories and American Democracy, World War I to 9/11.

Question - what did the 9/11 Commission learn from the Warren Commission?
Answer - don't release 26 accompanying volumes of evidence.

More than four decades ago, those 26 volumes, at odds with much of the Warren Report, set off a handful of researchers on parallel journeys to find the truth behind the JFK Assassination, trying to succeed where they believed their government had failed them.

Ranging from foreign policy memos concerning the Vietnam War and President Kennedy's implementation of a withdrawal plan before his death, the secret war on Castro, and the records of the Church Committee, which in the 1970s, laid bare the dirty laundry of the intelligence agencies and revealed to the public the CIA-Mafia plots to murder Fidel Castro.

One of the most damning revelations to come out in the massive 90's declassification was the Operation Northwoods. Refused by Kennedy, these papers revealed planning by the JCS for faked and actual terrorist actions against the U.S. to be conducted by the U.S., but in a such a way as to blame them on Cuba. These attacks would provide a pretext for an all-out military invasion of Cuba, and the overthrow of Fidel Castro. What is past truly is prologue.

The Bay of Pigs invasion is another example of a "False-Flag" operation, replete with airplanes re-painted to disguise their true origins, an actual attack, (on Cuba), and a complex cover story that unraveled quickly as the operation went down the tubes.

The book "The Invisible Government" by David Wise and Thomas B. Ross chronicles the debacle of this bungled operation, but paints JFK as a fully witting participant in the operation. This is contradicted by testimony by, among others, RFK, in the book, "Operation Zapata", a book that researcher John Hankey uses as source material in his underground film, "JFK II: The Bush Connection". The mainstream media is now acknowledging "Operation Northwoods", a (declassified) secret plan to kill innocent civilians: The objective was to "create a useful wave of indignation", blame Fidel Castro for the civilian deaths, with a view to building a pretext to invade Cuba.

This sounds familiar does it not? Northwoods was a dress rehearsal of 9/11. A mass casuality producing event involving citizens is used to galvanize public support for waging war on Afghanistan in 2001.

While 911 researchers have extensively analysed the logic of Operation Northwoods, its links to 9/11 and its role in the construction of the "Global War on Terrorism" the mainstream media has largely remained silent.

Jim Bamford, who discovered the Northwoods Document, discusses plans for the Iraq Invasion going back to 1996 with Neo-Conservative ties to Israeli interests. Does the death of William Colby [former CIA director] and Vince Foster for that matter have anything to do with what was told to fyi6reSEARCH back in the late 90's - that Colby was 'offed' because of his soon-to-be public objection to the "D-Plan" [disinformation]? And is this plan far more reaching than we can imagine, stretching into a far more pervasive form of "Operation Mockingbird"?

So, here goes craniac launching into more uncharted territory. It is truly rewarding for me to have fellow bloggers from this esteemed body tell me things like "I've never seen that photo before" or ""When you put it that way, I guess it makes sense". I became a truther at roughly 2:00 MST on September 11, 2001. I've poured over every facet of research I could find since then. Some of it is outlandish, some is not mainstream, some is glaringly obvious evidence of criminal wrongdoing and flies directly in the face of the Government Fairy Tale. Some of what I found early on has been scrubbed from the Internet for a very long time. It's great to find a venue to share it in.
