In early March, more shocking details emerged about George W. Bush legal counsel John Yoo's memos outlining the destruction of the republic.

The memos lay the legal groundwork for the president to send the military to wage war against U.S. citizens; take them from their homes to Navy brigs without trial and keep them forever; close down the First Amendment; and invade whatever country he chooses without regard to any treaty or objection by Congress.

It was as if Milton's Satan had a law degree and was establishing within the borders of the United States the architecture of hell.

On October 7, 2008, Naomi Wolf was at Vroman's bookstore in Pasadena, California to give a talk and sign her new book "Give Me Liberty." Stewart Howe, of WeAreChangeLA, was on hand and asked Ms. Wolf to give a message to the truth and accountability movement.

After admitting that she had no theory about what actually happened on 9/11, Ms. Wolf stated that no question should be off the table in a free society and saluted the movement's desire to seek truth and accountability.

i'm paraphrasing- she says with the destroyed CIA tapes, the whole Commission Report is in question and there needs to be a new investigation, she doesn't take a position on the "9/11" issue, but doesn't put anything past the Bush Administration, talks about how Christie Whitman's lies injured her son as proof they're willing to injure/kill people, ends with positive message; when millions of people support truth and justice, the powers that be can't stop it. Masters comments that Hamilton and Kean are now distancing themselves from the report.

Naomi says it all..almost. She leaves out one crucial point, however--those "confessions" are also central to the government story on 9/11. She does hint about it, though (see boldface type below). Naomi, why the reticence on 9/11? Why keep playing that game? Don't write for Alexander Cockburn, Amy Goodman, Noam Chomsky, Justin Raimondo, or whomever. Just tell the truth. The official story of 9/11 is not based on evidence and this story is yet another proof of that fact. Alvin

To judge from firsthand documents obtained by the ACLU through a FOIA lawsuit, we can guess what is probably on the missing CIA interrogation tapes -- as well as understand why those implicated are spinning so hard to pretend the tapes do not document a series of evident crimes.

...What we are likely to see if the tapes documenting the interrogation of Abu Zubaydah and Abd Al-Rahim Al-Nashiri are ever recovered is that the "confessions" of the prisoners upon which the White House has built its entire case for subverting the Constitution and suspending civil liberties in this country was obtained through methods such as electrocution, beating to the point of organ failure, hanging prisoners from the wrists from a ceiling, suffocation, and threats against family members ("I am going to find your mother and I am going to fuck her" is one direct quote from a US interrogator). On the missing tapes, we would likely see responses from the prisoners that would be obvious to us as confessions to anything at all in order to end the violence. In other words, if we could witness the drama of manufacturing by torture the many violently coerced "confessions" upon which the whole house of cards of this White House and its hyped "war on terror" rests, it would likely cause us to reopen every investigation, including the most serious ones (remember, even the 9/11 committee did not receive copies of the tapes); shut down the corrupt, Stalinesque Military Commissions System; turn over prisoners, the guilty and the innocent, into a working, accountable justice system operating in accordance with American values; and direct our legal scrutiny to the torturers themselves -- right up to the office of the Vice President and the President if that is where the investigations would lead.

I know some of you have attacked her for not taking a solid 9/11 truth position,. however I belive that by not taking such a position she is reaching more people that would simple dismiss such a decided position and is indeed getting them to think about 9/11 and question it.

Naomi Klein: Disaster Capitalism

Author Naomi Wolf draws parallels between nascent fascist states and the United States. This is not necessarily a 9/11 video, but the relationship should be obvious. This recent interview sums up her point of view, very interesting and informed perspective. Here's a little photo essay to go along.

This isn't directly 9/11/01 activism but it contains information that anyone working in our area should be aware of. Blackwater's role is becoming increasingly ominious and they are an integral part of any fascist efforts, as Wolf describes in her essays.

She states, "Increasingly, reputable figures are starting to talk about `a coup.’"

I personally don't think the martial law in Pakistan is without relevance to the near future in the US -- there is no catastrophe there except that the judicial branch won't go against the constitution and allow Musharraf to run as president again, and so he is having them taken out of their offices by police, held in house arrest, and replaced with installed justices (this sets a precedent and also echoes Bush's firings of federal prosecutors). These events are important to learn about, understand and thus predict when to act and how.

She also states, "Nothing at present prevents Blackwater agents from being deployed to help or replace the TSA domestically. Or from being deployed at the next New York City rally such as the one that is being featured on their website."

The noted feminist writer Naomi Wolf, in an article warning of imminent tyranny in America, draws a parallel between the Reichstag fire, which was an inside job terrorist act used to justify the Nazi suspension of democracy, and the attacks of 9/11.
Wolf, who served as a campaign adviser to Bill Clinton, sounds as if she is writing for the Sons of Liberty or the Minutemen of the Revolutionary era in her piece, which was first published by Britain's Guardian newspaper and reprinted by the Huffington Post blog.

Though Wolf does not directly promote any particular conspiracy conjecture as to who might have been responsible for 9/11, certainly her piece describes a well-laid plot for the suppression of democracy.

But: Unfortunately Naomi stopped short of suggesting that 911 was false flag terror, even if she explains the exploitation of false flags throughout history and the concept of creating terror myths. Maybe it was because of the editor of the Guardian, a left gate keeper instance so far.

It can, like Hitler's invocation of a communist threat to the nation's security, be based on actual events (one Wisconsin academic has faced calls for his dismissal because he noted, among other things, that the alleged communist arson, the Reichstag fire of February 1933, was swiftly followed in Nazi Germany by passage of the Enabling Act, which replaced constitutional law with an open-ended state of emergency). Or the terrifying threat can be based, like the National Socialist evocation of the "global conspiracy of world Jewry", on myth.
